Lunchtime Opportunities

Diverse lunchtime activities offered

Rangeview provides diverse lunchtime activities, engaging students throughout the year.

Lunchtime Opportunities

Rangeview offers many opportunities for clubs and activities during playtimes and before school. These are based on student interest and do change with requests received and the level of interest. Some of the clubs are run by staff and are free of charge, and some are offered by external providers and have a cost for families.

Some of the clubs we run include;

Run Club
Reading Club
Lego Club
First Lego League
Chess Club
Board Games Club
Puzzle Club
Kelly Sports

At Rangeview, we liaise regularly with the local secondary schools to ensure we are supporting our grade 6 students with a smooth transition into year 7. When choosing a secondary school for you child we highly recommend that you visit their website and contact them directly to arrange a school tour.

Each year, the department releases the Year 6 to Year 7 placement information for schools and for parents/carers. Information packs become available at the beginning of Term 2 for students who will be commencing Year 7 the following year.

Steps to enrol your child in secondary school

Moving from a government primary school to a government secondary school

If your child is in Grade 6 in 2026 and attends a Victorian government primary school, you will need to:

1. Read the Year 6 to & Placement Information Pack

2. Use the Find my School website to locate your local secondary school or preferred government school, and read about School zones and Enrolling in school.

3. Submit the Application for Year 7 Placement on the VicStudents portal by Friday 8 May 2026.

Year 7 placement is decided by secondary schools using the Department of Education's Placement Policy. However, all communication about your child's placement must be with the Year 6 Coordinator or Transition Coordinator at your child's primary school until the placement is confirmed.

You will receive notification of your child's Year 7 placement offer on Wednesday 24 June 2026.

All government secondary schools will host a Year 7 Orientation Day (for Year 6 students) on Tuesday 8 December 2026.
