At Rangeview we are proud to offer a dedicated Maths Specialist program that brings an extra layer of excitement and depth to our students; Mathematical learning. Taught weekly to all classes, this program is designed to ignite a passion for Mathematics through engaging activities and thoughtful challenges.
Key Features of Our Maths Specialist Program
Maths Talks: Interactive discussions where students articulate their Mathematical thinking, share strategies, and learn from each other. These talks foster a collaborative learning environment and build strong communication skills. Maths Challenges and Rich Problem-Solving Tasks: Students tackle stimulating problems that encourage critical and creative thinking. These tasks are designed to be complex and open-ended, supporting students to apply their knowledge in innovative ways.
The Learning Pit: We integrate The Learning Pit Framework to support our students' journey through challenging tasks. This framework normalises the struggle and helps students understand that facing difficulties is a natural and essential part of learning. Through this approach, students learn resilience and perseverance, developing a growth mindset that turns challenges into opportunities for growth.

Understanding: Students develop a strong conceptual foundation, ensuring they grasp the & why; behind Mathematical processes.
