Performing Arts
Developing skills far beyond the classroom
The Performing Arts program at Rangeview encourages the development of imagination, creativity and skills in students by exploring ideas and experimenting with a range of art forms.
Performing Arts
Rangeview’s Performing Arts program provides students with an engaging and creative environment to explore music, movement, and drama. We aim to foster confidence, collaboration, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
In Foundation, students are introduced to the fundamentals of music through fun, hands-on experiences. The focus is on enjoyment, active participation, and developing a steady beat.
Students explore sound using handheld classroom percussion instruments.
In Levels 1 and 2, students build on their understanding of musical elements such as rhythm, pitch, and dynamics. They begin using tuned percussion instruments like xylophones and marimbas and are encouraged to express their creativity through group and individual compositions.
In Levels 3 and 4, students learn to play the recorder and develop their ability to read traditional music notation. They also explore drama through improvisation, storytelling, and performance activities that build confidence and expression.
In Levels 5 and 6, students learn to play the ukulele and use a variety of instruments and digital tools to compose original music. They explore songwriting, film music, and collaborative projects that combine performance with technology.
It’s not the curriculum that we offer that sets us apart...
....it’s the manner in which it’s delivered. Our teachers actively and passionately explore the possibilities of making their teaching practice more innovative, engaging and fun at every turn. This is the single ingredient that drives the most growth in our students.
Curriculum that Inspires
