Physical Education
Healthy Minds & Healthy Bodies
Making the connection between having a healthy body & healthy mind through various physical activities.
Physical Education
Physical Education is a vital component of the Rangeview Primary School curriculum and community. Our focus is on developing confidence, strength and knowledge in the fundamentals of the body and movement. Through high-quality and meaningful activities, our students not only develop their skills, but also develop curiosity, have fun, learn the value of teamwork and sportsmanship, and strive for personal growth.
Our junior school program provides a solid foundation for students to develop fundamental motor skills and participate in games and sports. The Level 3-6 program builds on these skills to develop game skills, team behaviours and personal growth.
We complement the PE program with school wide activities such as:
House Sports/Whole School Sports Days
All students are allocated to a House when they commence at Rangeview Primary School. On House Sports Days, students are encouraged to wear clothing in their House colours. The four Houses are: Terra (Red), Solar (Yellow), Arbor (Green) and Hydro (Blue).
- Whole School Run Club
- Level 4-6 House Swimming Carnival
- Twilight Sports
- Level 3-6 House Athletics Carnival

We place a strong emphasis on being a good sport, an effective team member, goal setting, and achieving personal bests, and encourage maximum participation in all our programs. Students participate in a range of sports including Soccer, Football, Netball, Basketball, Volleyball, Cricket, Tennis, T-ball, Rounders, Softball & Ultimate Frisbee.
We also offer a range of additional programs and opportunities, including;
- District/Division/Regional & State level Cross Country, Swimming, and Athletics

- Our students also have the chance to participate in programs such as the Level 3-6 Hoop Time Basketball Program, Netball Victoria Schools Championships, Girls AFL Gala Day, Volleyball Primary Schools Cup, and All Schools Badminton Championships.
At Rangeview Primary School, we are committed to linking our program with the local sports community. We have established strong relationships with local sporting clubs, including Heatherdale Cricket and Heatherdale Tennis Club, Vermont Eagles and Heathmont Jets Football Club, Mitcham Thunder and Vermont Vultures Basketball Club, Ringwood Little Athletics, and Heathmont Jets Netball Club.
Our students have achieved outstanding results in a wide range of sports and competitions, reflecting our school’s commitment to excellence and community values. We welcome all students who love sport and are committed to helping them achieve their potential.
It’s not the curriculum that we offer that sets us apart...
....it’s the manner in which it’s delivered. Our teachers actively and passionately explore the possibilities of making their teaching practice more innovative, engaging and fun at every turn. This is the single ingredient that drives the most growth in our students.
